Who We Are

Jesse Middleton

Jesse co-founded WeWork Labs, a startup ecosystem in New York City, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Before creating WeWork Labs, Jesse was one of the co-founders of Backstory, a marketing engagement platform. At Backstory he was responsible for fundraising, product development and business development. Jesse exited Backstory in 2012 and joined on board at Jirafe where he led business development and marketing. Jesse is an advisor to a number of companies including YourTrove, Blueprint Health and Symple. Prior to jumping into the startup world in New York Jesse was the Director of Information Technology at LivePerson (NASDAQ:LPSN) and has worked for numerous organizations consulting on network security and architecture across three continents. // jesse -at- wework.com // @srcasm

Adam Neumann

An experienced leader and entrepreneur, Adam Neumann is a founding partner of WeWork, was co-founder of Green Desk shared office space, and co-founder/CEO of Big Tent Inc, which developed the well-known Egg Baby and Krawlers brands of children’s clothing. Growing up on a Kibbutz in Israel, Adam was raised with an acute connection to his community and learned from an early age what that energy can do when fostered appropriately. Today, through the development of WeWork, a unique boutique office space concept, comes the idea of WeWork Labs. Focusing on innovation and collaboration, WeWork Labs introduces a creative environment where ambitious entrepreneurs are brought together to create something greater than themselves. // adam -at- wework.com

Matt Shampine

Matt is one of the co-founders of WeWork Labs, a community for early stage startups with locations in New York City, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. He previously ran Business Development and Marketing at Hometalk. Prior to Hometalk, Matt was one of the co-founders of the angel-backed New York startup Onepager. Before Matt started Onepager, he co-founded the design agency Simande where his responsibilities included business development, client relations, and project management. Matt graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from The College of New Jersey in 2005 and attended graduate school at Drexel University. He is an advisor to numerous startups in NY and SF. Before Matt jumped into the startup world in New York City, he was a senior web developer at Mercedes-Benz USA. He has also held a number of elected positions and ran for Township Council in Palmyra, NJ in 2007. // ms -at- wework.com // @ms
